Welcome to the NUSGRA website of the Group of Regional Anaesthetists (GORA), RVI

Over the next few months and beyond, we will be curating new learning tools and resources at this website, created bespoke for the techniques employed at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle.

It will serve as a useful resource for trainees rotating to the RVI and undertaking modules of training in regional anaesthesia, as well as patients preparing for surgery on our day case hand unit.

Please check back regularly for new material!

I now use TIVA for all my cancer resections. Even if the data on cancer survival got debunked I wouldn’t switch back as the wake-up is sooooo much better. #Anaesthesia2019

In simulated obese neck (lamb trachea+belly pork) at yesterday’s #OAANewcastle2019 workshops, the long 8-10cm vertical incision made finding the CTM much easier.
In easily palpated anatomy, horizontal incision through CTM is fine.
@dasairway know what they are talking about 🤓

#OAA2019 workshop with @_SameerAhmed_ Know and practice difficult airway plan. Ultrasound better to identify CTM in obesity.
Better preparation may have saved Daenerys??? #GameOfThonesFinale @OAAinfo
